










Situation
Two established institutions, the two museums of the city of Linz, the Lentos and the Nordico, confront a current concept of identity. After the Brand Briefing, that concentrates entirely on content aspects, what followed was the derivation of form and communication from that, both outwardly and inwardly. A new visual identity is to be found. The new situation of forming a LTD., can and should show itself in the communication, as well as the understanding that the museums of the city of Linz, can confidently position themselves within the Austrian cultural landscape.
Concept
Our definition of the coporate design system, that creates order in a consistent and resolute manner, leaves enough space for individual identities. During the course of the conceptional phase of our process, we defined two representative images: the Lentos as the “Whitecube” and the Nordico as the “type-case”. Our design approach orientates itself on the one hand towards the very clear and demanding shape and architecture of the Lentos (in contrast to that of the city museum Nordico); and on the other it is a reference to the different and special ways of the presentation of both content and works.
